Another collection of inspired pop pastiche and four-track dementia, 's The Pod is nearly as long as GodWeenSatan: The Oneness but even weirder and more deranged, due in large part to the band's Scotchguard habit and the severe cases of mononucleosis Gene and Dean Ween contracted while recording the album. As a result, The Pod is dark and murky, with a slightly distant, fuzzy feel.7/

The Pod is only Ween's second album (released 23 years ago), and it is extremely hard to find an original vinyl pressing. Thankfully, Schnitzel records re-released the entire original album as a 18th anniversary edition, or something. This vinyl shatters the sound quality of the cds. It's like I'm hearing these Ween songs in a new light/5(71).

Jul 15,  · Reportedly fueled by Scotch-guard (which the band has refuted in doing, although it was reported that they witnessed other people doing it) but more realistically a four-track tape machine, a collection of drum machines, various effect pedals, guitars and other assortments (and an unexpected case of getting mono), Ween created an album that demonstrates their eclectic tastes, a command /5(41).

The Pod is the second studio album by Ween, named after the place it was recorded in, The Pod, which was the apartment the band was living in at the time, The Pod was recorded on a four track recorder, making it lo fi. however, from the previous album, GodWeenSatan, the quality is more sluggish, the album is considered the band's most surreal.
